Palisade Orchards Mural

This was a mural commissioned by a local who grew up in the Grand Junction area. Wanting a vibrant piece that celebrates their hometown while brightening up the space in their home, they requested a portrait of Palisade. I illustrated the profile of the Grand Mesa and the Bookcliffs, and to represent the beauty of Palisade, I included abstract representations of the rich orchards. For the final touch, I added some heart shaped peaches. The mural was painted on a large panel of wood measuring roughly 10 by 4 feet. The painting was created in August 2024 in the client's shaded catio before moving the piece to the final installation area inside the home. The painting of the mural inside a catio provided me with the unique opportunity to work on a project with two very special assistants- my own cats! This project was a very special experience and one of the most colorful paintings I have done.

Color matching - I chose extremely vibrant colors with a good range for layering. These colors were some of my favorite that I have worked with.
