This project is a mural that was commissioned by the City of Grand Junction Parks and Rec Department, as a featured painting in the 2022 Art on the Riverfront Trail (ART) installations. The mural site was located beneath the West Broadway bridge in the Redlands area of Grand Junction, right on the banks of of the Colorado River next to the popular trail. The finished mural measured roughly 30 feet by 14 feet, and featured giant yellow birds and abstract flora painted in my vibrant and whimsical storybook style for pedestrians and bicyclists to enjoy on their way by. I found my inspiration for this painting where I find most of my ideas - inside my watercolor sketchbook.
